5 (more) Sober Activities (pt. 2)
If you think being sober is boring, I'm here to tell you that it's not! Here are 5 (more) sober activities you can do any day or night of the week. And as an added bonus, you will wake up the next day remembering every second!
Go See a Movie
Movies give us the opportunity to live another life for a few hours. Whether you go out to a fancy recliner theater where they bring you your food, or you make it a movie night at home, there is never a bad night to watch a movie. a few of my favorites are: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Into the Wild, Life is Beautiful, Bridesmaids, and Moana. Most movie theaters have deals if you go during the day and tickets range between $8-$16/person.
Visit An Aquarium
One of my favorite things to do is watch fish. As weird as that sounds, it's actually really tranquil. Your local aquarium allows you to be up close and personal with different types of marine life. You can spend HOURS wandering around. There are even special events and package deals going on throughout the year, so make sure to check out their website before heading out. Prices start at $27.
Take a Bike Ride
A great way to get exercise is going for a bike ride. Many cities have some you can rent, so you don't even need to own one to get out in the sun. I like to ride along the canal path next to my house that spans up to 320 miles. My usual path is into downtown Gilbert, a few miles away, to hang out at the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Don't forget to wear a hat and tons of sunscreen.
Spend the day at the Lake
If you want to get away from the city for the day, a great mini trip idea is to spend the day at the lake. Which Lake you might ask? Google ones near you and make a plan. Decide what foods to bring for a picnic lunch, grab plenty of booze-free drinks, sunscreen, towels, hats, and your swimsuit. There are plenty of water sports to try, or just hang out on the shore and sun bathe. Have fun and don't forget to clean up. Always leave it better than you found it.
Dance It Out
If you're looking for a fun night plan, get groovin'. Gather some friends, find a local place that can make you some delicious mocktails, and dance the night away. Moving your body is great for your mental health. If you don't want to go out, no worries. Create a playlist and jam out at home. There's nothing better than a dance party in your living room with your pets.
